I went to Jogashima on February

Hello everyone, how’s it going under the Corona Virus? I stay at home almost every day but sometimes I go for a walk near the park around my house. Today, I’d like to talk about “Jogashima Island”. Do you know “Jogasima Island”. I went there with friends of mine in February. It is located at the Southern tip of Kanagawa and it is famous for Fishing port. You can go there by Keikyu-Line and bus. It takes around 1 hour from Yokohama. Actually, the island used to be a battery from the Meiji Era to the end of WW2.

The island is surprisingly fishing focused on tourism and there are some well known sights. This time, I'll introduce the “Jogashima Lighthouse (城ヶ島灯台)“ and the “Horseback cave gate (馬ノ背洞門)”.
“Jogashima Lighthouse (城ヶ島灯台)” was built in 1870 (Meiji Era) after the national isolation. It is a western lighthouse that was the fifth light house in Japan. Actually, it was rebuilt due to broken by the earth quake in 1923.

“The Horseback cave gate (馬ノ背洞門)”was created by erosion. Ship could go under the cave before the great earthquake in 1923. It is the best photo spot in the island. Some  tourist took some phots there. I think the best time to take a photo is in the evening between 16:00~17:00.

This area is famous for sea food. Especially, Tuna is popular. I had lunch at a restaurant on the island. It is “restaurant Maruka (お食処まるか)”. The atmosphere was quiet and it's a traditional Japanese restaurant and there were not many customers.
I ate a bowl with three kinds tuna. It included minced tuna, fatty tuna and soy sauce pickled tuna. The taste was simple and deep.
